Nuage Networks continues to build momentum across Greater China for software-defined infrastructure for the data center cloud, as well as the WAN. Recent deals, and the increasing size and scope of cloud deployments, show that China is taking a leadership position in rolling out SDN/ SD-WAN, and taking advantage of the network automation that solutions from Nuage Networks can deliver.
Today, we announced that China Mobile (CMCC) selected Nuage Networks’ Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) to roll out its first commercial public cloud project based on SDN technology. This deal builds on the work we’ve done together on the deployment of Nuage Networks’ SDN technology in CMCC’s DevOps private cloud architecture.
China Mobile is fully committed to evolving its public cloud strategy to support the current and future needs of its customer – in fact, it was announced in October that their integration won the Superuser Award at the OpenStack Summit in Barcelona, Spain. As the world’s largest mobile phone operator, China Mobile relies on OpenStack to accelerate application deployments, along with network provisioning and optimization, across its 835 million subscribers.
China Mobile was one of the earliest OpenStack users to leverage the Nuage Networks SDN infrastructure. The company established the scale and flexibility that a carrier-grade SDN platform like VSP can deliver to support massive cloud deployments and seamlessly orchestrate virtual networking, automation, and security through open-source cloud management systems.
Today’s news follows on the heels of Nuage Networks announcing that China Telecom Global (CTG) selected our Virtualized Network Services (VNS) SD-WAN solution to deliver cloud-ready enterprise services to its customers and became the first tier 1 carrier service provider in China to roll out SD-WAN. In addition, CTG and Nuage Networks are stepping up to address SDN network automation and connectivity in hybrid cloud environments.
